Review: Exclusive Magazine

For those not in the know, come the end of the month and we are all going to be presented with the chance to own something that, to my mind, could well be the one of the albums of the year.
Contemporary jazz keyboardist Mark Etheredge is releasing his easy grooving Connected on February 26th, 2016, and it is an album you have to own, trust me! It features two-time GRAMMY® winner Paul Brown (who also produces throughout) along with rock solid backing from drummer Gorden Campbell, everyone’s favorite bass player Roberto Vally and percussionist Richie Garcia.

Elsewhere on the album a horn section of sax-man Greg Vail and trumpeter Lee Thornburg adds some edge while other featured performances comes from Chuck Loeb and Andy Suzuki.

This quite delightful, late night, smokey smooth jazz piano collection begins with the uptempo and breezy 'Groovin' With My Baby' and never looks back. Easily one of my favorite tracks of the ten included on this great album, it is followed by the equally upbeat 'Be Who You Are,' the delicious 'Roger That,' and the uber groovy 70's flashback title track, 'Connected.' Featuring Paul Brown, it is yet another stand out highlight of this album.

After a couple more upbeat tracks in both 'Lost In The Shuffle' (again featuring Paul Brown) and 'Cherry Cha,' we get a stunningly gorgeous 'For Your Love' featuring Chuck Loeb. My goodness, what a wonderful, luxurious track this truly is, and one to sit back and kick back to after a hard days work, that's for sure. That's backed by the lush pairing of 'Bing Bang Boom' and 'Rain,' before the album comes to a close with the brilliantly-titled ensemble work sway of 'Soul Clap Honey.' - Exclusive Magazine
